It was also great to celebrate Shelley's birthday by the pool during happy hour at the Embassy Suites Wine Country in Temecula. We especially want to thank Kristin Frame and GM Victor Morgenroth for their hospitality in hosting Team Australia at the totally remodeled Embassy Suites.
None of this wouldn't have been possible without Lou and Valerie Skovron, who have led the Valley Junior Golf Association for more than 30 years and are total PROS at putting on junior golf tournaments. Valerie even shared a story with the group about Rickie Fowler (from nearby Murietta) and Adam Scott playing in junior golf tournaments together in Temecula with their son Joe, who has been Rickie's caddie sine 2009! A picture is worth a 1000 words, so just watch this slide show from the tournament and AAU medal ceremony to see how much our kids and their parents enjoyed themselves at the AAU West Coast Junior Olympic Games Golf Championship. The Aussies will return again next year and China has already committed to bringing more players. I hope this this blog post will encourage other Country Teams to join us next year in beautiful Temecula, California. This is such a beautiful destination for families to meet people from around the world to develop long lasting friendships. It is amazing to see what the GAME OF GOLF DOES TO DEVELOP OUR YOUNG PEOPLE! We must also give a shout out to everyone at the Legends Golf Club, including owner Doc Somerville, for hosting us and keeping the course in immaculate playing condition. Can't wait till next year as Emerald Tours was pleased to take care of travel arrangements, vehicle rentals and hotels for our visiting families.
