For every reason someone tells us not to travel, we can think of a million more why we should. To put it simply, we travel because it brings us to life. There is nothing that can compare to the feeling we get when we arrive at a new destination.
Throughout the years, we've learned that everyone has a different traveling style, BUT everyone travels for the same reason. To get out and see the world. Destinations which can be scary to society has us leaning head first into what awaits. Travelers crave experiences. Travelers crave emotions. Travelers crave using their five senses to discover the multifaceted layers of a destination. Yet, the only thing which may surpass traveling is revisiting a place with someone who has never seen it before. Travel to us is as necessary as breathing. Travel imparts a knowledge that books and formal education can never give. It can widen your worldview, break down mental barriers and push you to learn a skill you never thought possible. We know that this is a small reason for why travelers head out to new places, so we must ask, why do you travel? Let us know in the comments below. We always want to know what spurns you to hit the open road, fly the friendly skies and sail the seven seas. A view from the Victoria Golf and Country Resort Sri Lanka Sri Lanka is quickly becoming a tourist destination. Although we may be a bit biased in our opinion, after all, our founder has ties to the country, we have found it to be a magical place with fabulous food and stunning vistas. This is never more evident than when one decides to hit the links in the country. Sri Lanka has rife with beautiful foliage and is one of the rare places in the world where you and your friends can enjoy unspoiled nature next to some of the top courses in the world and no membership is required at most.
Although the country doesn’t automatically pop into someone’s mind when when they think of going on an international golf vacation, we strongly urge them to consider the country. There is Victoria, ranked the best golf destination in Asia in 2005, situated among other equally beautiful and fabulous courses. However, we know that many non-golfers are in love with golfers and would rather die a slow death than accompany them on a golf vacation. Fortunately, the country has a long line of excellence in service. We strongly urge golfers and non-golfers to take time away from their extracurricular activities and indulge in one of the many spas the country has to offer. Sri Lankan spas are one of the world’s best hidden secrets and we can’t think of anything better than a luxurious spa day followed by a luxury five-course meal. Oh, it doesn’t end there. Be sure to take in a few tours of the countryside and tea time before you depart. Sri Lanka has too many gifts for you to spend them all on the links. Tee Off: Royal Colombo Golf Club Rest: Victoria Golf and Country Resort Sri Lanka Relax: Angsana Spa Indulge: Ministry of Crab On April 9th, we sent our Marketing Director, Paul Tambakis, to escort and welcome Mr. Liu Jin, Executive Director of China PGA, Mr. Chunhui Li from CCTV China and seven other golfers from China to take them on a whirlwind golf tour of California and Las Vegas and culminated in a trip to the final round of the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Upon arrival, they checked in at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, Southern California. Perfect weather gave way to a wonderful day of golf on the resort’s famous Eisenhower golf course. This championship course features breathtaking views, pristine grounds and beautiful landscaping. The Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms Resort is one of California’s most noteworthy and historic public golf courses. Golfing legends have played on their course and their seals of approval has made it one of the best courses in Los Angeles and given many players memorable rounds for more than 25 years.
Next up was the main event, the Masters. We left for LAX headed to Atlanta, Georgia, to attend the final day of the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta. As golfers worldwide know, tickets to the Masters are highly elusive, however, our partners in Augusta secured tickets to Sunday's final round in addition to some fabulous accommodations for our VIP guests. Only a select few manage to gain entry during each annual overture, and we were thrilled to be able to give our guests those memories and bragging rights for the next year. We hope to see them and their friends at future PGA tournaments, including the upcoming U.S. Open in Chambers Bay, Washington. After a four-hour flight to and three-hour ride to Augusta, everyone checked in to the Travelodge in Grovetown. The air was electric because our guests anticipated that history was going to be made the very next day. They were right and we were able to witness Jordan Speith's record-setting performance. However, Speith’s victory was only just the beginning for our guests. Stay tuned to get the rest of the details about this fabulous journey! |
